16th-Jul-2010 10:42 am - FIC FILTER: for people who want to read stuff instead of just "ZOMG I AM TIRED"
1. K has started work
2. Work is kicking K's ass
3. (Passive voice) K's ass is getting kicked by work.

In other words: in spite of my humongously huge writing to-do list of humungous, the fates have made it such that I am mostly too braindead by the end of the day to finish a fic in a single sitting, which is how most of the insanity is usually produced.

I do, however, want to get all that stuff done! And tasty ideas, they do exist! So I am writing them in piecemeal and in parts, and everything is getting put on the beta filter. If you don't mind watching fic come together in drabbly bits, or just want something to read more often than once in never once in while, COMMENT and I will add you!

Alsowik: if you can see the Trekfic post beneath this one, you're already on the filter.

'Course, if you want to be removed at any time, just let me know!

2nd-Jul-2009 11:22 pm - Gundam Wing versus Trek knockout battle!
Drabble Battle #2! Unfortunately, the Discworld prompt somehow managed to fling itself off the Elephants and go thundering elsewhere, so for the moment the battle rages between Space and Space. 8D [info - personal]voksen is to blame for the Gundam Wing, and everyone else is to blame for Trek.

Again, word count is not an indication of bias (FOR SERIOUS THIS TIME), and nothing is really read through or fully thought out. Experimenting with a few new styles, too!

Gundam Wing: Treize lives! But Zechs takes huge political falls. (And I somehow manage to write only the introduction, where Treize doesn't appear at all, huzzah!) 1031 words. )

Trek: Flying-o-phobic McCoy, meet Starfleet! 437 words. )

ALSO WIK!!!: it is imperative (see the number of exclamation marks I used there?) that you give me your addresses for the Great Mailer if you wish to receive mail! SHYNESS IS NOT AN OPTION. I love sending mail, so indulge my sad little life and go paste yourself there. 8D
2nd-Jul-2009 02:47 am - Fic/poll: HP versus FFVII knockout battle!
Adapted from the poll earlier this week because K:
  1. Doesn't have the brains to write a full fic yet
  2. But wants to write bits and pieces
  3. And is totally unashamed of subjecting 2 totally unrelated fandoms to a knockout poll to see which one gets written first

8D THE WORD COUNT IS NOT AN INDICATION OF MY BIAS. Not at all. Note: everything is written as-is: no grammar/logic/fun checks for me at 234am!

HP: Marauders fic! In which Peter is not stupid, and neither is James, and neither is Sirius uncouth, oh and Remus is a badass. Featuring James and Sirius and some talking. 287 words )

FFVII: Tseng under Creepymanpedo Veld! An early scene, featuring Reeve and Veld and a lot of rain. 1106 words )

17th-Jun-2009 03:33 pm - To the flist in general--
I just wanted to say ♥ and that I love you guys for being the caring, insanely talented and heartfelt people that you are. ♥ It's always blown my mind away how a shy girl who talks too much from this corner of the globe has been able to get to know all you crazy and fantastic people from all over the place - you guys have been a bright damned light, full of lessons of life, politics, writing, love, joy. I'm honoured and lucky to call you guys my friends. ♥ ♥ And will always look forward to getting to know you guys better, regardless of how much we talk right now.

Also, a huge thank you to anyone who's dropped a word for me over the last few days of epic crap-time, and hearts out to everyone who's been going through hard times or Workfail or tiredness. As Ocean's 12 the movie said, HANG TIGHT.

AND TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS WHO ARE UNDER THE WEATHER, OR WHO ARE HELPING ME THROUGH MY TIME OF WEIRD HORMONES, OR WHO WILL EVER BE UNDER THE WEATHER: ♥ You are all and each of you beautiful people, articulate in your own ways, and a gift to this small green planet of ours. ♥
14th-Nov-2008 12:44 pm - Goodwill and happytimes!
YULE SEASON IS ALMOST HERE ♥ I've only spent about a year in fandom so far, but the Non-Denominational Celebration Season is a good time as any to express my heartful thanks to all of you people whom I've come to know over the last twelve or so months. ♥

IN THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON, THEREFORE: goodwill times! I'm a big proponent of sending stuff off to all ends of the earth. Most human beings I know are big proponents of receiving stuff in the mail. ERGO:

all I want for
is ---

If you want to spread joy and receive and/or give back, there's this beautiful meme below. Comment below, or leave a link to your own post, and everyone can LINK BACK AND FORTH FOR GREAT JUSTICE:

Make a post to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 unlimited holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related to medium to really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa could get in touch with you.

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

Surf around your flist to see who has posted their list. & now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

List! )

22nd-Sep-2008 09:43 pm - HI FLIST HI HI HI HI
Maybe it's because it's lull season for me right now - I'm in the midst of starting and finishing research papers and getting one set of results back before going into a new set of revision and examinations in late October and November - but I want to get all the crazy holiday stuff set down before the INSANE CRUNCH TIME of Yule and November frippery.

Christmas/Yule/Happy Non-denominational Random Celebration Day Card Sending List

If you want a postcard to find in your mailbox come December - no promises on the content ("8D 8D"), but I can give promises on the, uh, ontological existence of the card itself - leave your address/a address in the comments (screened!). This doesn't just apply for you - if you have a friend/loved one/family member/pet/relative/best friend/doctor/spouse/neighbour/teacher that you want to send some lovin' to, set that right down here as well!

Therefore leave:

- A Name/Identity/Thing I can address the card/thing to
- An address that a postman will deliver to
- If it's meant as a surprise for a friend, a note you may want me to stick in for you
- If it's meant as a surprise for you, a note about what you might want me to stick in for you

Your addresses are safe with me. *g* I realise that makes it sound totally washy, but YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO TRUST ME ON THAT.

Feel free to spread this 'cross IJ if you want - more people = more love, right? - or to spread a little ho-ho-ho yourself. In the middle of September. Because it's cool to be early. And stuff.
